As the fall semester ends, things are picking up in Admissions Land. The traditional BSN application deadline is January 2, and the Masters Entry: CNL and PhD program applications are due by February 1st.

I've done a tally of the number of applications received by today (December 17):

Masters Entry to Nursing (CNL): 18 applications received (0 offers made)
PhD in Nursing: 7 applications received (2 offers of admission made)
DNP: 4 applications received (0 offers made)
MSN: 70 applications received for Sp 09, Sum 09 or Fall 09 (21 offers of admissions made)

I intend to update this every 2 weeks through the admissions cycle.

End of Year

Undergraduate Students:
We are expecting 117 new BSN students this year (more than our target).
60 of these are first-year students
16 internal transfers
19 are external transfers
22 RN-BSN students


Graduate Students
We are expecting 135 new graduate students this year (also, more than our target):
28 CNL students (second degree students)
58 MSN students (those with BSN degrees)
23 Post-Masters students
13 PhD students
13 DNP students

CNL decisions

The admissions for the CNL program for Fall 2008 are scheduled to be mailed on Tuesday, March 18.

The decisions for the first-year undergraduate class will be mailed by the end of the month.

March 2008 update

We are nearing the end of review of our First Year BSN and Second Degree CNL applications (decisions will be mailed by the end of March for these programs). We will soon be starting to review the BSN Transfer, RN-BSN, and DNP applications with hopes of mailing our decisions by May 1. Review of MSN and Post-Masters applications are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis, but all materials are to be submitted by April 1.

Updated application tallies:
First Year BSN = 404 applications received
BSN Transfer (deadline was 3/1, so too early to tell the number)
CNL (Second Degree) = 113 applications received
MSN applictations : 15 new applications received in past month (53 total)
Post-MSN: 3 new application received in past month (16 total)

PhD: 32 applications received (6 offers made)
DNP: 62 applications received

February Update

We are in the midst of reviewing applications for the entering First Year and Clinical Nurse Leader classes now, but I wanted to give you an update on applications received.

First-Year (class of 2012) = 390+ applications received
RN-BSN = 9 new applications and 19 deferred applications for Fall 2008
Clinical Nurse Leader = 111 applications received
MSN = 38 applications received and 15 offers made
Post-Masters = 13 applications received and 7 offers made
PhD = 28 applications received and 4 offers made
DNP = 15 applications received
